Some bombing prowler samples
Just look at my weapon usage:
After my main weapons, the next I've used most is the prowler, by far.
And the reasons for that are really simple: they are cats, they are great fun and they are almost immortal.
Of all the prowler types available, my favorite is by far the bombing cat because his capacity for adept evading makes him even more hard to kill and I can keep attacking almost non stop.
That horrible Village 10* quest with the Hyper Teletransporter and the Super Saiyan 3 (Wycademy Challenge)? No way I could do that as a hunter, but I brought a boomerang bombing prowler with the Snowbaron XX weapon and they both died faster than expected... while I kept sleeping almost every 2-3 minutes so I wouldn't cart >_>.
I've used prowlers to do every kind of quest; from boring gathering quests to trounce G level deviants and solo EXs (haven't killed solo an EX yet, though).
They are just that versatile and awesome.
Most elitists diss prowlers because they aren't exactly speed run material, but honestly, most of us (as players) aren't that too. So, who really cares?

The samples
All of these are based on the famous boomerang prowler build.
That build is basically having Piercing+ Big Boomerangs activated at all times while having Boomerang Pro and some critical skills to increase affinity.
It's a ranged generic critical build, in tl;dr.
I scouted and built them using this guide from Gaijin Hunter. And I'll post the reference image here for our convenience.
Generic critical bombing prowler #1
My favorite one. The generalist and deviant killer. This is the one I used to clear the Wycademy Challenge quest.
He has a good balance between attack and defense capabilities.
Skill wise, he is a BBCCCC (look at the reference image). He got all the skills from the cookie cutter boomerang prowler build, plus Nont-Stick Fur for dealing with annoying binding monsters like the Snowbaron.
Negate Poison for dealing with the Dreadqueen or Yian Garuga.
I'm seriously considering changing Nine Lives for a more useful skill. Defense shouldn't be an issue with adept evade and the skill itself isn't that great, since it lasts very few time.
His support moves fall in the BBBCC category.
Far Cat-ster is a must, since you want to go to sleep whenever you lose two acorns, unless you want to cart.
The other moves are what you would expect from the boomerang build and some utility moves I happen to personally like.
I'm also thinking I should change Furbidden Acorn for something more useful. I'm no speed runner, so I don't really care if my quest goes 7 seconds longer because I need to build my gauge.
Generic critical bombing prowler #2
This one is complementary to the last one.
He is a BBBCC skills type.
Negate Stun is useful against thunderblight inducing asshats.
Notice he doesn't have earplugs, but has more affinity raising skills. I decided to go that way just to test how well he would perform.
Dakuku has indeed faster killing times than Nopo'rikh (you're right; all my prowlers have Nopon names), but just by a couple of minutes at most.
His movements are ABCCC because I wanted him to be able to trap right of the bat.
Notice he doesn't have Far Cat-ster, so I can't cheese sleeping. I used Frulask of Healing as a healing method because I like how it works.
Dakuku is my glass cannon.
The status resistant prowler
This was a test build I made and I ended loving it.
He is BBCCCC. A tried and tested setup.
Now he has an "odd" ABBC setup.
I decided to get this because I noticed I almost never used other movements than Piercing + Big Boomerangs, so I didn't needed that much movements.
Also, this small set happens to have an A skill, so I got Giga Barrel Bombay for those sleep bombing antics I love so much and still can't help but giggling like an idiot every time I do them.
Closing
There you go. Three sample builds I hope gave you some ideas on how to build and play your own prowler.
Good hunting!
